More work on my business plan for next year and I’m anxiously waiting for it to be January already. I’m so excited about the steps I’m going to take. I really think I’m going to see great results from the work I’m planning on doing. I know I could start now in theory, but I still need to work out the kinks and the timelines. If I try to do it all at once, I’ll fail. I need step by step plans first. But it’s really coming together and I’m stoked.
Finished my work for the week right before the deadline. But all finished work is good work. I even kept up with my nano words all the way until Sunday. But one day behind isn’t anything to worry about and I’ve been writing over the daily goal anyway so I’ll finish no problem.
I did more research about the website stuff and I’ve finalized my decision. Starting next month I’m going to build the website on Nrdly and get it ready to go live in January. I have a free 30 days from the website and then another free 30 days from my infostack bundle. And I looked up domain hosting and a business email plan so I can bring it all together for the new year. And I really think moving my blog stuff to Medium, Inkspired, and sub stack is going to be better in the long run. There’s more readers on those platforms. But I’ll have links on my website feed and I’m going to post links on patreon and buy me a coffee to increase fan engagement. And writing short stories every week has been fun so I think I’ll continue doing that instead of the retail rant nonsense. The only other types of posts I’ll do are the book thoughts and my nonfiction brain dumps to prepare for those books.
And editing has been going so smoothly for Birds Aren’t Real 2. It’s really exciting when the work doesn’t struggle to be done. I finished another two chapters of deep edits and I also ran the entire Non Fiction book through ProWritingAid so I’m right on track for both projects.
And I’m so happy to say I finished the first draft of the second witch book this week. The total word count is a few thousand short of 50k, but I know I’ll beef it up in editing. I always do. And I really like how the ending came together. I didn’t expect to finish it, but the words just came pouring out of me. And now it’s going to sit for a month before I begin the first read through. And this week I can start brain dumping my next idea and I have until January to have the outline ready, so I have plenty of time.
I got a lot of reading done last week too. Almost like I was making up for the week before. And I’m getting myself to do more physical reading again, which is nice. I”m going to make it more of a priority next year since I’m not focusing on a learning plan as much next year.
That’s about it, I need to write up my newsletter and do some more business plan nonsense.
