What a nice week it turned out to be. Everything was finalized in time for the book launch. I’ve only sold a few copies so far, but I’ll do more social media this week and send out the new book release on bookbub and see where it can go from there. I submitted it to a spooky season finale sale through kobo and then I might set up the little prequel with Jaylon as a reader magnet for my newsletter and see if anyone bites after that.
I wrote a short horror thing for the blog last week off of a tiktok prompt. I think I’m going to do a few more like it (it was very short) and then filter those into the next All Signs in between the longer stories. Next month I’m going to really buckle down and make the decisions about my new website. I need to decide before I’m charged again for Wordpress.
A new marketing tactic I’ve learned about is doing a bundle at the end of the year. I could do a box set of the first two All Signs on sale until the end of January and it can link people to preorder book 3. Maybe I’ll do two versions, one with just the all signs books and then one that also includes In Spite of it All. I really liked those first stories and I wish more people read them. Or maybe I’ll just run a promo price for that one by itself until the end of the year.
Editing went well also. I went through two chapters in Birds 2 and marked all over them and I’m getting pretty excited for the rewrite stage. And I went through two chapters in the NF book as well. Only a few left and that one is ready to be ran through prewriting aid. And I’ll be roughing out the cover soon. Little over a month until that one is released.
Writing flowed out last week too. Hit the 2k word mark with ease. And I need to start thinking about plot points for book three. I’m only a few chapters away from the end and I want to have a few ideas before I wrap it up.
I’ll be working on my plan for 2023 in the next few weeks and I’m looking forward to being more productive and working on better methods. I’ve been stenciling out my planner and I’ll be adding in the goal work before the end of the year. And once I know what my plan looks like, I can draft a blank copy to sell on my etsy store.
Off to it.
